About Me
My name is Lindsay, and I have lived in California for my entire life.
I was born in San Francisco and grew up on the Peninsula. My parents still live in my childhood home!
I have a Master’s Degree in Child Development from the University of California at Davis (2007), and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from San Jose State University (2014).
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2017, and have had my own private practice since 2019.
I have always had a strong desire to help others, starting in childhood. Early on in my mental health career, in 2008, I was a home visitor providing Parent-Child Interaction Therapyto underserved families.
At that time, I was unsure about whether I’d want to continue pursuing a career in therapy.
Looking back, that was truly my greatest experience as a therapist, because I was out in the community making a difference, and contributed a great deal to my pursuit of becoming a licensed therapist.
One of the things I like most about being a therapist is getting to know different people from different backgrounds, walks of life, and family systems.

One of the things I enjoy most about being a therapist is getting to know different people from different backgrounds, different seasons of life, and different ways of experiencing the world.
My general approach is pretty direct, but in a kind and compassionate way.
Most of my clients appreciate that our sessions are more like conversations, rather than something that feels very formal or scripted.
I aim to help my clients feel supported and validated, but also feel a sense of trust and belonging when they are in a session with me.
My general philosophy is to meet clients where they are and go from there in terms of how I can be the most helpful.
I work with children, teens, young adults, and parents using practical, evidence-based approaches. I focus on individual, family, and community-based strengths in order to create a foundation for lasting change.
I also have specialized experience in treating children with behavior problems, as well as individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, sexual identity, and trauma-related issues.
In my spare time, I enjoy doing a lot of different things - going out to local restaurants, playing pool, going for walks, going to Tahoe, going to concerts, and spending time with my family and friends.

I was a rower for 10+ years (including 4 years as a Division 1 collegiate athlete), which I truly believe has contributed to the fact that I am still completely a morning person! 4:30 am wake-ups to get to practice are no joke! :)
All jokes aside, my life looks a lot different nowadays. I have two children who keep me on my toes! I truly love hanging out with them - except when they fight - then I love it less. ;) Kidding, kidding. I often get asked by my clients (who are parents) if my children fight or misbehave. They do, not to worry.
Sometimes my skills as a therapist don’t generalize to my own life apparently. :)
